WGS Celebrates Unsung Heroes 2
The first Unsung Heroes, organised by the World Gourmet Summit, was such a hit that the team at the World Gourmet Summit were encouraged to continue this endeavour for the second edition. From 22nd to 30th June, 19 participating establishments will come together to create nourishing meals, pack them into bento boxes, and send them to the frontline fighters of the COVID-19, the healthcare professionals.
This sentiment has been shared by various partner restaurants, gourmet distributors, chefs, F&B caterers, and partners of the World Gourmet Summit. With rice sponsored by USA Rice, ingredients sponsored by California Raisins, Potatoes USA, Indoguna Singapore, Carne Meats, Limwood Gourmet and alternative meats sponsored by Phuture Foods Sdn Bhd, the second edition of the Unsung Heroes is shaping up to be an exciting one.
“After the success of the first edition 2 month ago, and the loosening of the restrictions in Phase 2, we should never forget what all the Healthcare related workers have done for Singapore the past few months!” says Mr Peter Knipp of Peter Knipp Holdings, the company organising the World Gourmet Summit. “I am so very proud of my Team’s initiative for giving back! They deserve all the credit! So very very proud of them!”
The bento boxes will be delivered to Tan Tock Seng’s medical professionals over 8 days.
