Tiger Beer Pledges SGD1 Million to Support Local F&B Establishments

Tiger Beer Pledges SGD1 Million to Support Local F&B Establishments The F&B industry has been the most badly affected with the outbreak of the COVID-19 and 88% of the restaurants have indicated that they may not be able to survive April without assistance.

As a result, home-grown beer brand and Asia’s number one international premium beer is launching a campaign called #SupportOurStreets to help local F&B community establishments. The initiative will help coffee shops, food courts, bars, pubs and restaurants to tide through the unprecedented challenges from the impact of the COVID-19.

This campaign was introduced as Tiger Beer believes in preserving the industry, as should restaurants close, the local food culture and heritage will be under threat, and many iconic eateries and timeless neighbourhood coffee shops, bars or pubs may not weather this storm. In addition to that, the livelihoods of over 220,000 people and their families supported by over 18,000 local F&B establishments are also at stake.

Running from now till 31 May 2020, Tiger Beer is encouraging consumers to support their local F&B community by going to Tiger Beer’s website to make a $10 contribution. Tiger Beer will also show a gesture of appreciation to consumers as each contribution will entail a digital drink voucher redeemable for two Tiger beers when the outlets resume operations to encourage footfall and support the industry’s recovery. Each week, the contributions will be collated and all proceeds will go directly to the F&B community.

Kick starting this, Tiger Beer will begin the campaign by contributing SGD$100,000 to the fund. The brand is also pledging to contribute SGD$600,000 worth of beer product sponsorship to support the recovery of the F&B community. Tiger Beer will also curate a care package to be rolled out when F&B partners restart their businesses again.

Singapore and Malaysia are the first countries in Asia Pacific region to launch the #SupportOurStreets campaign, followed by Cambodia, Myanmar, Phillipines, Thailand and Vietnam over the next two weeks.
