Odette Wins Restaurant of the Year at World Gourmet Awards 2019

After a year of nominations, voting and judging, the 19th edition of the World Gourmet Awards culminated in the World Gourmet Awards Presentation Ceremony held on the 22nd of April at One Farrer Hotel.Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, the ceremony presentation saw a total of 35 awards given out across 6 categories to celebrate the industry’s finest.

Odette, which had earlier been placed No. 1 on the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list, continued its streak by bagging Restaurant of the Year and Old World Wine List of the Year. The presentation also took the opportunity to celebrate chefs such as celebrity chef Sam Leong of Forest at Resorts World Sentosa and Nikheel Advani, Chief Operating Officer and Co-founding partner of the Grace Bay Resorts. Both men received the Lifetime Achievement award presented by Guest of Honour Argentinian ambassador His Excellency Federico Alejandro Barttfeld.

Luzerne also presented the Luzerne Special Recognition Award, which celebrates either organisations or individuals making notable achievements for the culinary profession in Singapore, to Chef Haikal Johari of Alma by Juan Almador, for his efforts in rehabilitation and working hard to get control of his motor skills after an accident in 2015 meant he had to be heavily reliant on a wheelchair.
