Remembered as the American chef who brought and adapted complex French recipes for the Americans, Chef Julia Child is one of most widely respected public figures till now. The property is listed on Airbnb at $938 per night. Julia Child and her husband Paul built their holiday cottage, nicknamed “La Peetch”, on land that belonged to their close friends Simca Beck and Jean Fischbacher in the village of Plascassier.
It was built in 1962, shortly after the publication of their highly successful cook book, Mastering the Art of French Cooking.

The house had been in use as the Cooking With Friends school run by an American, Kathie Alex, before its recent sale.
