Bath’s poshest restaurant fails to impress

Bath’s poshest restaurant fails to impress As they say, all that glitters is not gold. This is especially true at The Downer House, and though it may be the glitziest and poshest restaurant in Bath, it leaves The Telegraph’s Joseph Connolly unsatisfied and unimpressed. Delivered in Connolly’s usual entertainingly critical style, lines like “House champagne is Taittinger, and also teensy-weensy: the last time I saw a glass as small as this it came free with a bottle of Optrex” leaves no room for doubt what he thinks of the restaurant.
