Prosecco has over taken champagne to become Britain’s most popular sparkling wine, accounting for £182 million and 21 million litres worth of sales. This marks the first time the sparkling Italian wine has surpassed in both spending and volume sales . However, experts warn that the popularity of prosecco meant it risks becoming a generic term for non-champagne sparkling wine. Read more at
