The 24th edition of the RAS Epicurean Star Award, held at the the Raffles City Convention Centre, took the opportunity to celebrate the
milestone achievements of both individuals and establishments in Singapore’s F&B industry.
Restaurants like Curate, Bakalaki Greek Taverna, Super Loco and Bedrock Bar received accolades such as Best Western Restaurant Fine Dining, Best Western Restarant Casual Dining, Best Western Restaurant Chain Restaurant and Best Steak Restaurant. Bakalaki Greek Taverna was also the winner of Best Mediterreanean Restaurant.
The event was graced by Guest of Honour, Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Home Affairs and attended by more than 1,000 guests.
This also culminated in the announcement of the winners of the RAS Epicurean Star Award, which had more than 100 F&B establishments
nominated across 20 categories this year. The annual awards recognise the best in fine-dining, casual and chain Western, Asian, Chinese and Japanese restaurants, as well as others, like new category Best Steak Restaurant.
Highlights of the event this year included the announcement of the results of the 5S Excellence Award, the Star Chef Competition 2019, special recognition for EXSA 2019, as well as the announcement of a new challenge. Mrs Josephine Teo took the opportunity to unveil the launch of the ‘F&B Tech Reboot’ challenge, supported by Enterprise Singapore and the Restaurant Association of Singapore.
The new challenge calls for four F&B companies will step forward to take this challenge, where they share the common challenge where
interoperability lags across digital solutions. This initiative will help to point food.companies in the right direction on their digital journey and lower the barriers of technology adoption.
