Melbourne is not short on restaurants and pubs serving great steak, and debates can always run heated when trying to figure out a great place to eat. One restaurant’s name though pops up more often than not: Steak Ministry Bar & Grill.
Located in Glen Waverly, South- East of Melbourne, Steak Ministry Bar & Grill has been operating since 2014 and serves up some of the freshest seafood, meats, and seasonal produce . Their star produce? Steak. And the man behind the kitchen producing steak that has tongues wagging? That will be Chef Chris Wade, one of the founders of Steak Ministry Bar & Grill, and Executive Chef of the kitchen.
Chef Wade, who also happens to be one of the chefs joining us for the World Gourmet Summit, has a passion for quality produce and great cooking, and this can be seen from the menu served. Using Australia’s finest grass-fed, grain-fed and Wagyu beef, Chef Wade believes in using local produce and supporting local farms. His skills in cooking steak, ribs and fresh seafood means that diners would always be getting the best of the best Australia has to offer, and his steaks have helped him establish a cult-like following for his skills.
Another great star menu item? Their slow-roasted ribs. 28-year-old Luke Sorace recently made a trip down to the restaurant with his friends, and had rave reviews for them.
"My slow-roasted ribs were perfectly cooked and huge, and a great value for money, with more than enough for a six-person party at the table to try and still leave heaps for yourself," he says, gleefully, and added that he would be returning to try the ribs again.
Celebrating their 5th year of operation this year, Steak Ministry Bar & Grill shows no sign of stopping, and neither is Chef Wade. The chef , who has attained One Chef’s Hat, an award system popular in Australia, is a great advocate for demanding the best of himself, and believes that hard work is required to maintain excellence.
